Stephen Pohlmann

Stephen Pohlmann, together with his wife, Bianca, planted Riverside Community Church on 10th October 2010. Stephen and Bianca also have two young boys, Levi and Nate. Stephen has experience as a geologist as well as being a worship pastor before he felt the call to start a new church in the South of Johannesburg. Together, Stephen and Bianca are passionate about the local church being a thriving community of believers, actively engaging the world and enjoying God.

Operations Director

Jean Maccallum

Jean joined the Riverside staff in 2012 as the Operations Director.  She has a B.Comm in Psychology and Marketing & Advertising Management.  She is currently studying Ancient Near East & Biblical World Studies.  Jean has served on the staff of several churches as the youth & children’s workers, and has also worked for various parachurch organisations arranging conferences, running events and doing leadership training.  In 2021 Jean published a devotional entitled Acts and the Exodus Come Alive, under the pen name of JS Mack. 

She is passionate about helping the Bible come alive for people through devotionals and teaching courses that provide a deeper understanding of the biblical world.  Her heart is to help people explore the richness of God’s Word in its original context and to thereby deepen their walks with Him.

Children's Pastor

Jodi Dyers

Jodi Dyers, along with her husband Darryl, first came to Riverside in 2012. She is now our Pastor of Children’s Ministry. They have two young boys, Nathan and Caleb. Jodi has been involved in a number of churches in the area’s of youth, children, music/worship and creative arts ministry. Jodi also served on the BYSA ministries team and staff. She then completed her theological studies in 2009. She has a great love for kids and a deep desire to see them become fully devoted followers of Christ. Jodi is also passionate about developing and growing young leaders as they serve in the Kingdom.

Youth Pastor

Sizwe Tshabangu

Sizwe joined the Riverside team in 2021 as an intern while pursuing his theological studies. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Theology in 2024 and is currently working towards his Honours degree. Sizwe now serves as the Youth Pastor, where he leads and disciples teenagers with deep passion and authenticity. He is committed to helping young people build real, personal relationships with God through honest connection with both God and others. His heart is to see teenagers truly anchored in Jesus — fully known, fully seen, fully loved.
